Fund raising 1,6 M€
07/04/06 Just one year after their initial capital increase of 142 K€, MitoProd has entered a decisive phase in the development of its activities. Having spent the past year building its manufacturing capabilities and reinforcing its team, which now totals more than ten people, MitoProd has achieved viability and is producing RNA for academic research laboratories in Europe. Thanks to its advanced patented technology, MitoProd can supply these molecules at low cost, with the added possibility of delivering “complex” RNAs by improving existing technology that is incapable of meeting demand, in terms of quantity and size. The new capital available to MitoProd will allow it to increase its production capacity and deploy the resources necessary for accreditation by an appropriate quality label. These are essential for the company to gain access to the molecular diagnostics’ market, for which control batches of RNA play a major role in the detection of viruses, such as Hepatitis C, AIDS, Ebola etc. In the long term, these new deployments of resources will converge towards the production of RNA for therapeutic uses, an emerging market with huge potential.
